How do i set up a Sterilite for my boa? What size should I buy and what do you do about lighting?

You get a clear tub.. you do not use lights you use flexwatt or a UTH. You set it up the same way you would any other home for the snake. 2 hides and a water dish. whatever you want for sub-straight. Just make sure your lid is locked on good and that you have your heating source on a thermostat.

Yes. I have never used a light on any of my snakes and I never will. A lot of people here use racks and you can not have lights in racks. Just buy the clear tubs and not the colored ones. They will do just fine. I would start with The Container Store > Our Underbed Boxes (http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closet/underbedStorage?productId=10001213&N=175) something like this. Just make sure you use some kind of clamp or clip to keep the lid shut on the sides.

What kind of Boa? I would get the biggest tote on you can find. Then drill holes in it for ventilation. I get wooden dowels from Ace Hardware cut them to fit from side to side then screw them in. Or you can just get branches for it to climb on. Be sure to have a water bowl, hide for the hot and cool ends. Maybe even a hide for the middle of the tote if there's enough room. I use a under the tank heat pad.(UTH) Be sure it covers 1/4 of the bottom of the tote. As for lighting a clear tote will let in all the light it will need.

Wide is better than tall. They are mostly terrestrial (stay on the ground).

Yes! It would work for a little while for a small baby. A 116 quart is right around 33 long x 18 wide x 13 high. I can buy them at Wal-Mart or Dollar General for under $10.00 this size would work fine till it get about 4 foot.

Right on about how big can he grow in this one?

The rule of thumb is that the Length X Width of the enclosure should not be less than the total Length of the snake. So if your tub is 26 l x 16w, your snake will be fine until he's roughly 3.5-4ft long. Then he'll need a bigger tub.

I don't stick mine. The adhesive is just so that it doesn't move and stays in one place.
