I just got this snake about a week ago and hes been doin fine for the first few days, but in the last two she has'nt moved from a open corner. i was told she was goin to shed soon when i got her. would this behavior be because of that or something else?

It would help if you showed us pics of both the snake AND her whole set up. You might want to double-check the temperatures in your enclosure.

Different daytime and nighttime temps aren't really necessary.
Where is your heat source located?

i got a 55 gal and i got two lamps on top of the right side of the tank.. out of the way so the she cant burn herself

Do you have your lamps on any kind of thermostat? What is the humidity in the tank? what kind of sub-straight are you using? What kind of hides do you have and how many?

sand is bad, it can cause impaction... i never heard of using sand for a columbian boa either.. other than that, the temps sound fine, that is what i keep my RTB at, but pics would be great, i would get rid of sand asap though.

I keep my hot side around 92°f and my cool side around 83°f. At night my cool side hits 75°f but I don't cool of my hot side. My snakes actual temp is usually around 86°f. How do you keep humidity up with sand? Also I would ditch the sand. I personally used coco husk.

thats fine... but sand is still not a good substrate at all. i would suggest to switch to aspen, thats what i use on my RTB.

thats a good idea, sand can get under neath their scales too, not just from eating any way..

not sure why shes staying in same spot, mine tends to too, but you gotta think, your not seeing her 24 hrs a day, she could be moving then going back to that spot because of the warmth..

im sure sone one else with a little more experiance will chime in, she she getting dull looking at all? or darker, that is sometimes a sign of shedding.

Sweet boa... I'd seriously take it off the sand tho, it'll cause problems at some point. Tissue paper is a cheap alternative that I use for my boa..
