C'mon Eli, you're not supposed to make me believe that you don't eat ANY vegetables all winter, right?! :p Tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, onions, broccoli, and bell peppers are usually available year-round at most super markets :yes:

If it's up to me I'd say do all the editing you want! But IDK if there's an overall rule set by the mods or something.

Im all for editing, but i cant shake the feeling that it takes away the point of a photo contest. Either way lol

forgive me if i'm wrong here as i'm a bit of a technophobe but....

if we allow editing can folk not enhance a dirty yellow snake into a nice clean bright yellow snake ?

in other words a picture that looks nothing like the snake does in the flesh ?

Lets agrre on this: to be fair to everyone, only minor edits will be allowed. You are not allowed to change the color or the look of the reptile, etc. You can only edit to enhance contrast, brightness, etc. But NO alteration of the animal itself. Just keep it clean and simple.

is there any way of telling if a posted picture has been drastically altered ?

or is it down to individual peoples honesty ?

Yes, it's down to the person's honesty. These aren't serious contests, there is no "prize" per se, so there shouldn't be a need to be dishonest. Lets just have fun with it :)

Aaaaand, some manual color, contrast, focused blur, white stripe is enhanced... yet if you didn't see the orignal could you tell this 1 mintute editing was done to it??? Probably... Maybe.. if you were looking for it. But it could be a really nice, colorful photo. lol

Reptiles on veggies, mine is an example. Take a pic of your snake on top or near vegetables.

Then again, I've been doing this for a few years, and I used to do it for some of my classes so I've got a better eye than most (yay Architecture/Graphic Design)

I think we should just stick to origional, un-edited photos to save any confusion on rules. After all it is a competition to see who takes the best picture. :)
