This month "Reptiles on Veggies"

Reptiles on Veggies!

Yup, I looove my vegetables and I wanna see everyone's reptiles sitting on or around people's favorite vegetables  Weird theme, but why not :p

All reptiles can participate :D

Thanks!
Alessia

First off, since we have such a diverse collection of animal keepers on the forum, I need to make it clear that some months the contest may exclude certain members with the theme.

Since the only "prize" is recognition of your photo, no one should ever get jilted or feel left out is they don't have a certain animal they can enter.

Meaning, if the "winner" of the first month should chose a theme that requires that entries be a lizard photo, a colubrid, a python, etc.. then so be it, and don't get angry if you don't have a specific animal to enter in a certain months contest.

Since we are a herp forum, no dog/cat/bunny or ferrets will be considered.

However, I am open to mice, rats, fish and insects.

The rules are as follows;

1) Each participant is allowed only one entry. Photos submitted by anyone must be taken by you and not be a picture from the internet.

2) The contest will remain open for the first 3 weeks of the month, the final week being set aside for voting.

3) Pictures must be related to Herps only and must be within the theme set by last month's winner in order to be eligible.

4) The winner may choose the theme for the next contest, but may not participate in it.

5) It is understood that the winner gives his or her permission for their winning entry to be posted on the portal page, and/or otherwise used by ssnakess.com with credit being given to the photographer.

There is no other "prize" offered or implied.

The winner will be chosen by a poll conducted on the forum.

This may be subject to minor changes pending approval of Hobby Solutions Inc. Community Builders | Hobby Solutions Inc (http://www.hobbysolutions.com/)

Stupid thread won't let me post a reply on the contest discussion thread...

why did you guys think the photo topic was "restricting"? most people I know have vegetables in their home, and it's not hard to put your reptile next to one. All it takes is one tomato, one spinach leaf, one baby carrot, whatever. I'm confused

Personally i dont take pics specifically for the contest - if i have one that fits then i enter it, if not i dont. I dont tend to put my snakes down anywhere, once they are out of hte viv they stay on me so i dont have pics with "objects".

I didn't think it was very restricting.
But I guess I am a kid so I have plenty of time on my hands to take pictures :)
The hardest part IMO was making him stay still :p

Try getting a garter snake to hold still...

That's why I post feeding pics, they stop long enough to swallow.
