My Hog Island boa (evening photoshoot)

Hello everyone :) Just snapped some pics of my 2009 female Hog Island boa and I thought I would share. Sorry if some are very similar, I just wanted to try and get slightly different angles to show off her lovely evening colours (for those who don't know, Hog Island boas' colours lighten at night and darken during the day). I will add some daytime pics later so you can see the contrast. Anyway, here she is:

When I look for a boa, I look for little to no peppering yet that's one of the nicest hogs I've seen, jealous.

Why thank you Jay! :) Same here, I usually go for boas with the cleanest markings and backround, but I think with her I find they look more like "beauty spots" than just speckles, in my opinion they actually enhance her look rather than detract from it.

You referring to Kat or the boa? Kats name is Katrina, scary temperament and you never know how shes going to react when you take her out so put on gloves. A hook probably wouldn't be considered overkill :P

Thank you very much Alessia! :) I've not had her very long yet, but so far she has a very nice temperament, fairly easy to take out and tolerates handling very well - she seems to actually enjoy being out wrapped around me and petted, dare I say! I have not chosen a name for her yet, but I am playing with a few, one being Saphira.

Thank you! :) To be honest, I wasn't even in the market for a Hog Island boa, but I couldn't resist this girl. You don't see "pure" hogs as much anymore with all the outcrossing being done. Sad thing is, they are practically extinct in the wild :(

She's turning out to be a real sweetheart - I haven't had her very long now (barely a month), but she's warmed up to me considerably already. Her trust level has grown quicker than that of any of my other boas, and there doesn't seem to be a mean bone in her body - though she will hiss her protest if you disturb her while she slumbering peacefully in her coils, understandably :p
