So I picked up this behemoth(Delilah) today. She is as gentle and sweet as could be. She weighs in at just over 15lbs and right under the 8ft mark. She is 10 years young and has never been bred. Is there any reason why she couldn't be? Is she too old at this point? I just wasn't sure if they go too long maybe it wasn't healthy. Either way I think she is great. From what I understand, she is used to being out quite a bit sittle in a 5 year olds's lap. Calmest carpet I've ever seen.

Man thats a big girl! As far as the breeding question, it shouldn't be a problem. On another site I'm almost positive one of the breeders had pics of a 16 year old jungle on eggs. I think its more important that they are healthy enough to endure the breeding process. So I think you would be safe trying to breed her.

That's kinda what I figured but just wanted to be sure. My males won't be ready until next years so we still have some time. thanks

Awesome looking carpet. I'd just make sure she hasn't been sick recently and has a little extra weight on her, she will go months without eating.

Sweet snake. Is she a Coastal or Jungle? She look like she about the same size as my 10 year Jungle just a little heavier. Yet another nice pick up Congrats!

Thanks. She is a coastal. I had heard the herps like leos could have issues if you waited to long for breeding. As for size, I didn't actually measures herein yet, I just wanted to get her settled in. She takes up the full length of her enclosure which isis 5 dt with 2/3 of her body so I'm estimating her at right around 8ftand give or take.
