So this past week or so, I've been finding it almost impossible to sleep XD, and after awhile just sitting and stare at the home page on facebook gets extra boring, so I decided to do something else tonight.
Tonight I found myself watching episodes of Snake Byte TV I have to say I find it pretty interesting and you get to learn quite a bit. I've read a couple place about people saying that they don't like the show, so my question is if you don't like the show why not? and if you do, what's your favourite part about it?? If you want to get into a bit more, throw in the link to your favourite episode and we'll have a discussion about it..
So to start things off this is my favourite episode that I've seen so far, and if you know me, you know it's going to be about BAABIEES :yes: Wahaha

I for the most part have enjoyed that show. I haven't seen it in months though so I don't know if much has changed. I was enjoying the expierment with cornsnakes they are running. Over the course of many months they have 4 groups of baby cornsnakes they hatched themselves on different feeding regimes to see which works best.
My major issue with the show is how they use animals as toys to scare or irritate one another. They do not have a disclaimer and I think they should. They purposely get snakes pissed off just so they bite and strike and that to me just isn't right.

Yea but it's what the 'viewers' want. A lot of what they do on the show is directed towards what the viewers want. And I bet while a lot of snake owners may watch it, there are probably a lot of people who watch it that don't have as great a passion for snakes/reptiles.

And by showing inexperienced people that snakes bite and are "aggressive" they will never educate those inexperienced people that snakes actually make great pets. We as owners know htat the snakes are being wound up to bite like they do but people with no experience may not realise that the snakes are biting as a last resort. I think it is kinda sad that this is the public face of snake ownership. :(

>.< Yea that's true... Snakes biting doesn't really bother me, so I never looked at it that way. I do however like the parts Brian does, because it's only when he deals with the burms or retic's and trying to first get them out, but he also continuously states that once he gets them out they're like big babies lmao

Rob beat me to it but I feel the same way. I don't really like what they do with the aggressive snakes but at the same time I am also not filled with fear of snakes in general. I'm not a person of the general public who may see this as very dangerous or as severe animal abuse. It just perpetuates reptile keeper stereotypes.

Brian takes allot of risks by not using the hook with his burms/ticks/rocks...

They also give you an itch that feels amazing when you scratch... who wouldn't want an excuse that viable.
