I have wood mites in my snakes enclosures. I have, or thought I had got rid of them, then they came back. Anyone have any tips on getting rid of them?

Nix is AMAZING when it comes to killing mites.

As long as they ARE WOOD mites then thete isnt too much issue, they wont affect the snake at all, we get them everynow and then with bags of substrate.

They are white mites. I have not seen any between the plates or in the pits. They just seem to be wondering on the snakes.

I would consider taking anything wood out of the tank and using Nix. Then once there are no more mites put in different things than what you took out. If it is bedding you could consider something new OR buy another bag or whatever. If it is decoration consider non wooden decorations.

"Anyone have any tips on getting rid of them"

Stop using a wood-based bedding.
Aside from that, there is no way to either avoid or destroy wood mites (safely) that will not harm your ball pythons.
As a few have said, apart from being really annpying, they are harmless unless you're made out of wood.
Deal with it.

I've read good things about defender mites (hypoasis miles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypoaspis_miles)), for what it's worth. They're mites that eat mites. Never used them myself but maybe someone else on the board has, and can confirm or deny whether or not they're helpful.
