i drove and got some thai food with my dad today, then i picked up my new girl from the guy. when you touch her in her viv she is SUPER SKIDDISH, but once she's out she's much better. he also only had 1 hide and a water dish that takes up like half the tank -.- i'll have to mix things up.

she's SO much smaller then nigma. prolly gonna be a few years before i can even think about breeding.

don't mind my nails, i can't stop biting them into oblivion; it's bad.

jeeze. the guy i got her from is running a ceramic bulb (that doesn't have a wattage on it) and i don't know what his schedule was with it on but it has no rheostat attached and it was almost to 95 when i unplugged it and it had only been on for an hour or two. i'll just use a 75 watt red bulb and it should be good.

Never run a ceramioc with out a thermostat - the wattage is, in a way, irrelevant as the thermostat will keep the temps correct.

Occassionally for an experiment i will check the temp of the BULB with teh laser thermometer - highest reading i have seen so far is about 450f - i couldnt imagine having that in an enclosure with any living thing without the thermostat and guard in place.

the ceramic i have for my BP runs without a thermostat, but i've checked it many times and it's perfect.

just over 90 on the hot side, mid 70's on the cold side.
