today ive been looking at my hoggie and saw some of the substrate stuck to his mouth, could this be due to his burrowing or could there be another reason, he seems as full as life as usual.
also is there something i should do to get the substrate away from his mouth or just keep monitoring him for a few days.

He will end up covered in it. As said before thats why I don't use that substrate. When it gets damp it sicks to everything so will stick to him when he's had a drink or if he swims in his water bowl then burrows.

I don't know if its a problem or not if he gets any in his mouth etc but it will get everywhere. Aspen is much better imo.

What substrate is it? Generally as long as it isn't ingested your fine.

It's not toxic so as long as he eating it by the mouthfuls my opinion is he should be okay.

I would change to Sani Chips. As others have said it is going to get stuck to him every time he gets wet and he could end up getting some in his mouth. You really should consider changing.
