Your corn did that?
Why was he so grumpy? Unusual for a corn to react like that. Poor guy must have been scared by something.
I thought it was a boa bite when I first saw it although the pics not so clear.

yep the corn did it, as for why i have no idea, but he has been quite aggressive lately anyway, he must be getting territorial in his RUB i think but either way, i gotta give the guy credit, he got me gd and came out of no where

Could well be the fact you have now moved him to the rub which opens from above. He's not used to that, he was kept in a viv by his last two owners so front opening.
Is that the rub you originally kept the boa in? You had the corn in a 4ft glass tank and now he's in a smaller opaque rub. He probably feels very safe in there so you need to take extra care when just reaching in and "grabbing" him from above. :)

Good bite for a corn, well done!! My corns will strike at anything coming at them from above.

yh, i thought i might be a better idea to have the corn in the rub and the boa in the tank while the geckos in her 2ft viv, the boa seems to do better in the tank in all honesty (im not saying he wont 1 day) he never tries to escape, hes happy straddling the log at the top of the tank in 1 corner.

yea invest in a snake hook, it is good for picking snakes up from above and removes a lot of stress.

yh i always wondered what being bitten by a corn would feel like and in all honesty, its not much to feel.

actually come to think of it, he probably thought i had food as i usually dangle it from above and so on, i still dont blame the snake though, he was just doing what he thought was right to do

he does pack a punch but he is a rather large corn anyway, the width of his head is about an inch.

What does he weigh?

Head width of about the inch would be about same size as my adult corn, he never bit me but wasnt handled previous to our ownership and musked all over me a lot for the first few months, hes a puppy now, no defence problems at all.

My jungles have huge heads, plus being part king they have that naughty edge to them, I have to be very careful with my fingers!

i aint sure what he weighs tbh, he still abit temperamental with his feeding, only eats occassionally and i dont really handle him much, i handle the boa more often tbh, but once he starts eating regularly i will start handling and weighing him as he is under weight atm, his spine is ridged but hes getting there

Has the RI cleared up? Has he been back to the vets for a check up? If he's losing weight thats not good. Corns can go a while without feeding but very rarely lose any weight.
If it's noticable in his apperance he must has lost a fair bit. He was very chunky in the pics taken a month ago?

yh his ri has cleared up and his weight is slowly picking up but the ridge just doesnt want to go basically, the vet sed that he checks out but i dunno, his last feed was last week and he had a medium and a large mouse within a day of each other (the large 1 didnt defrost same day) but he is very active during day and night
