Oooh..I love water pythons- they are such neat, underrated snakes. You don't see many of them around. I love Macklot's even better!

the sawu python.the sawu python is from the small island of sawu,in the pacific.the confusion in the snakes common name (sawu) as opposed to its scientific name (savuensis) is easily explained by languages.latan, the language of taxonomy, has no "w",and the only way to write the island name (sawu) is savu.hence the savu python.hope this has been of some help to you.
cheers shaun
p.s.range:the island of sawu,west of timor,indonesia.

White-lipped pythons (leiopython albertisii)are slender and have very long, slender heads. The body is a solid gold or dark bronze with very high iridescence and the head is solid black with white labials (lip scales). http://www.freesnake.com/whitelippython4.jpg
The Boelen's python (Morelia beoleni) is a much thicker bodied snake with a bulbous head and thick throat. The head is wide and tall, and the body is normally the same dark brown to black as the head, with cream to white vertical stripes every few inches.

If you look at pictures of each snake, they are very different in appearance.
