Hello all,

My dilemma:
Ive kept .2 Grandis Days since they were juviniles.
They both laid eggs last year so i searched for a male.

Found one,had it shipped ,and when it got here it had no red spots at all (only faded looking ones, same for eye stripes).

Ive searched like mad to find more info on the differences of the two.

Are they to different to breed ? ,shouldnt be bred if even if they would ? Or are they simply visually different Grandis that was "over discovered/named".

It's more a question of 'ethics'. I'm pretty sure you can get fertile eggs if you let them mate, but do you want to?
No way do I want to get into a heated discussion about hybrids, but to answer your question, it boils down to - do you want to produce crosses/hybrids/whateveryouwanttocallthems?
Since Phelsuma are already CITES listed, and many are threatened in their natural habitat, it might not be wise to mix species/subspecies for the sheer fun of breeding the specimens we have in our possession.
Like I said, you have to decide if you want to let them go to it, or look for the right mate(s).
