so my new corn was eating like a champ before when i had first gotten her, 1 pinky per week, every 4-5 days, but all of a sudden she just refuses food, she is not skinny to the point that i am fearful of her life, but she is losing weight, i have tried scenting, dangling the food around, marinating in chicken broth, i even cut the pinky in half lengthwise in order to expose the organs and entice her as well as marinating the pinky, she will look at it, taste it, and will slither away like shes not hungry, but its been 3 weeks?! shes only 4-6 months old, in a 10 gallon terrarium with many hides, cold side is about 72-75 hot side is around 78-80, shes still alert and active when i pull her out to inspect her, she did have a bad shed the other week but i bathed her and slowly and gently rubbed the shed off... am i doing something wrong here? please help...

This behavior is typical in the winter.. My corn snake went off feed once when he was little too.

figured id post an update, while looking at her we (both the breeder, the vet, and i) found 2 subtle abscesses on her lower region, which looked quite worrying, we checked her mouth and it seemed to be fine, other than her stubborn attitude lol, shes being checked out by my herp vet and has been given some antibiotics as a precaution, we shall see what the xrays reveal on monday i guess, fingers crossed here everyone!!!

P.S. sorry for the double post!

just another update, because of her odd behavior and stubbornness myself and my breeder decided that it may be a good idea if i gave her back to him to look after, at least for the time being. i feel horrible for not being able to fix the problem but i also feel that its probably best for the snake if shes with someone MUCH more experienced in the matters than me as she is only my first snake. so after much deliberation i have given her back to the breeder (much to my own dismay) in order for what is best for the animal, i have already gotten a deal on a kingsnake which should be in soon, so hopefully this one eats... well at least i can say i tried...

It is very commendable of you to do what you have done.

Kudos to the breeder also.
