Feeding Time at my House! (pics)

I'm sorry that I'm bombarding you guys with pictures, lol. This is the first time I've had an outlet for my love of snakes! None of my friends are interested in seeing my babies devouring dead rats and mice...I can't imagine why not! hehe

Anyway, we had two momentous occasions at my house today during feeding time! Nellie had her first feed since I brought her home and did WONDERFULLY. Found the pinky right away and took him nose first, no problem. Jinx (my royal python) had his first rat pup today and it was quite a step up from the pinky rats he's been eating, so I was a little nervous about the size and very proud of his performance. He got it down no problem and then slithered off to the warm end to snuggle into his favorite hide.

Speaking of most people not being into snakes, I'm thrilled cuz I've finally found a new neighbor (who's fast becoming a good friend) who totally digs my Boa. She was thrilled to get to hold him and came over on feeding night just to see him eat. Now she wants her own snake. :)

Its very nice when people enjoy our strange (to some) choice of pets.

I agree. One of my neighbors used to have a BP, but her husband doesn't like snakes so she had to sell it. She loves my snakes and offers to take care of them if I go away and her kids always want to come over and see the snakes..lol. I also have some friends who love the snakes. It's so nice to be able to share them with people who appreciate them. JinxtheBP, congrats on feedings- it is neat to watch them eat. I have tons of snakes, but still like the feeding times.

Snakes are infectious. My friend has a ball python and i fell in love with them. So I got my own, and its the little brother of my friends ball! anyway, love the photos. My favourite part of the feeding is when the snake is nearly all the way in, snakes head gets so big.

Cool. I love that second last picture. That would make a sweet avatar. What kind of camera are you using, I like the way the photos turned out. :)

I have a few friends who could care less but I find most of them are pretty into my animals. I've had several friends buy reptiles after seeing mine, I think people are often surprised in when they see reptiles in person. Lots of people have a perception of how reptiles are (good or bad) and are pleasantly surprised that snake aren't slimy and man-eaters, or that cresties are super soft, or that an iguana can learn to use a litter box..

I also have friends who don't "get into" snakes...but thats ok. I bought my first snake last October...now I have three. I swear they're like potato chips...can't just have one!
