Hi Guys,

How's it going?

Myself and my boyfriend just arranged to take this weekend away (3 nights). I've been really busy and I just remembered about the snake! I usually drop him off at the pet store and they look after him for me, but it's a bit out of our way and I don't think we have time to get him there before we go.

So my question is, is it possible to leave him on a low temperature for a few days (say 22 degrees C constantly). We have very warm weather here in the UK at the moment - if anything the lamp has hardly been on at all anyway!

I don't have a timer - is it possible to buy one? Will a normal thermostat do the trick of turning the lamp on and off or would you say it was dangerous to leave it? Cos I guess the other option is to get a timer and have the lamp on during the day and off at night.

Argh! Any solutions? Thanks so much,

Caz

I use a timer for my lights and it works like a charm, and I NEVER have to run home to turn off my lights, or forget about them, etc

Just run to your local hardware store and get a timer, IMO. It will take a lot of stress and worry off your shoulders.

Thanks guys. Think I'm gonna leave the temp at 22 degrees C for 3 days. We're having very warm weather at the mo so I think this'll be okay! What would everyone else suggest? (Will buy a timer in future but right now I need advice for this particular trip and have no way to have a day and night temp with a timer so will have to have it off at night if I do that)

If you are worried about temps a thermostat would do the trick, and have the lights on a timer. It would be great in general - not just for when you are away.
