Hi, I'm new to this whole forum thing, but I thought it might be a good idea to join. I have a ball python by the name of Hendrix. I got her about 7 years ago in a little independent pet shop in Sudbury. She was between the size of a golf ball & a tennis ball in the palm of my hand. I knew absolutely nothing about snakes, but I couldn't resist her. Not knowing anything about the difference in the sexes, I named her Hendrix, but now I think it's a "she".
She's at least 4' long now & one of the greatest pets I've ever had. She's just a normal Bp, not a morph, but she's active, aware & absolutely beautiful. I love to watch her. It's fun to see people hold her for the first time. She's so gentle and well behaved, but people are still so nervous.
I've always had in interest in reptiles, but snakes are just the easiest & coolest of them all. I'm considering breeding her next season, but I'd like to get a 2nd female first then borrow my cousins male to breed with them. I'm slightly worried about what will happen to her health if I do breed her, but I'm still just doing reading at this point.
