Well, she resurfaced...

Hadn't seen her since Tuesday and then she appeared this afternoon. I never seen a skinnier monitor! So she got the biggest hisser ever (pic #2)!! 6 eggs in all, with 2 slugs and 4 fertile (hopefully). Soil temp was 80F and man were they ever buried!! I have a new-found respect for paleontology!!

Now the hard part begins....

Wow, that's great! I hope they all hatch for you. How long is the incubation time?

Ha ha Cranwill, that's the hard part! 90-130 days! Lots of time for crap to go wrong. That's why these guys aren't $50 yet. Eggs are simply hard to hatch! Which sucks because you get so elated that you finally got eggs, only to realize that it was the easy part!!

Thats awsome. Good luck hatching them :) I have been informed on the incubation and i dont think i could keep the water off them. Plus it seems to take a long time.

i was told that if any water (like drops off the lid) got onto the eggs that they would die. Could of being the storrs.

Hmmm...that's a new one. But no, I won't be raining any water on the eggs any time soon! :D

Congrats Jeff, Best of luck. I remember the first time I had Ackies eggs. I had 11 fertile eggs and they all went full term, only to die fully developed unhatched. I learned from my mistakes and got it right the next time and everything was well from then on.
