To combat the growing opposition to the keeping of amphibians and reptiles as pets, I have created an on-line petition:
I support the keeping of amphibians and reptiles as pets! (http://aqua-terra-vita.com/ATVIIR/atviirReptilePetition/petition.php)
If you support the keeping of harmless amphibians and reptiles as pets, please sign the petition!
Also, please feel free to post this link to the above petition on any other forums that you may also visit:
aqua-terra-vita.com/ATVIIR/atviirReptilePetition/petition.php
Thank you for your support!

In the last few days I have expanded the petition against the proposed reptile ban in B.C. into a full-blown website whose purpose is to inform and alert Canadian Aquarium and Terrarium Animal Enthusiasts to changes in legislation that will effect their hobby.
The above link is to the old petition itself, and NO LONGER WORKS. The new URL is:
Canadian Aquarium and Terrarium Animal Legislation (CATAL) (http://aqua-terra-vita.com/ATVIIR/CATAL/catal.php)
Please visit the CATAL website and sign the petition... what happens in B.C. could be a precedent and could effect the laws in every province.

I added this information to the Canadian Aquarium and Terrarium Animal Legislation ( CATAL ) website today, but I thought I would post it here as well:

7. Here is a sample letter that you are welcomed to use to inform others about this website:
The BC SPCA is proposing a ban to the BC Ministry of the Environment which, if adopted, would ban all Boas, Pythons, Monitors, Turtles, Tortoises and many other harmless reptiles in the Province of British Columbia.
This new tactic, by the BC SPCA, of opposing the keeping, breeding, and sale of reptiles at the provincial level is a very real threat to the amphibian and reptile keeping hobby across Canada, because, if the Province of British Columbia goes through with this ban, other provinces may soon follow in their footsteps.
A website, called "Canadian Aquarium and Terrarium Animal Legislation ( CATAL )", has been created to oppose the ban of harmless reptiles, in British Columbia, and of harmless reptile, amphibian, and aquarium fish bans anywhere in Canada.
The URL of the CATAL website is:
aqua-terra-vita.com/ATVIIR/CATAL/catal.php
Please visit this website and sign the on-line petition "Keeping Amphibians and Reptiles as Pets Petition".
We need your help to fight the growing opposition, by fanatical animal rights organizations, to the hobby we love .
Your support is urgently needed now!
