Finally working with my macro on my camera, I have a lot to learn, but it’s sure fun to take pic’s of the smallest things.

Hi Diggy,

Macro mode is used for very close subjects (couple of inch max) e.g flowers, insects.
I do not know what camera you use, but IMHO you should not use it there, unless you take a picture of the eye only ;)

Your first picture is nice, but the branch is too visible and takes most of the light from the flash.

I prefer the second one.

Here are 2 tricks:
- if you take a photo thru a glass, keep your lens againt it to avoid reflection
- you can place a piece of curved plastic (you can cut it from a bottle of milk) in front of your flash, it is a cheap way to create a diffuser

macro can be for any subject and i use a coffee filter on my flash, but will try the milk container trick thnks, im a beginner anyways

Yep your are right, they were only exemples... the way I see it is macro = short focusing distance. IMHO, shorter than for those 2 pictures.

I'll try to remember the coffee filter, great idea.
