what kind of snake is this?

Is this a rat snake? My friend found it on her porch in Georgia... we have two little ones and want to make sure everyone is safe :)

Looks to me to be a banded water snake. They are not venemous.

Agreed, on both counts...Water snake, not venomous, but usually not to keen on being held. LOL
