Well here's some Updated pics of Barnabas the male lavender albino tiger retic, freshly shed from last night and absolutely glowing! LOL He's got a funny little pale head and the rest of him just pops with color. Pretty neat little guy.

I kind of want to steal him, but I'm not so much of a python fan. Your specimens are turning me around though.

LOL.....well I don't know if I would advise that, he's gaurded by a 14 foot female that doesn't like visitors! LOL

Yeah I've got boas than I do pythons, but are a few that really interest me, retics for one have turned into one of my favorite species to work with.

Glad you enjoyed the pics!

Why Brad???? Why???
Why do you have every snake I want????????? lmao

Gorgeous boy you've got there.
I like the white headed Retics. They put an interesting twist on their colors and patterns.

RFLOL....must just have good taste I guess! LOL

Yeah he is rather unique, from what I understand he's also a het. for Clark Phase, apparently he carries the gene for the Clark Phase White Albinos, obviously that isn't proven since he's too young to breed but that is what I was told from the guy who bred him.

He is really nice. I want a Retic really bad, but I dont think I can house him when he gets huge. Looks Good tho. Grats

Thanks man!
RFLOL....and you are going to what with your new Burm? Even though retics may get longer, they stay a lot less heavy than Burms, just food for thought . LOL

Damn you shouldn't have told me that. but I heard that you need certain floor space for the length. So wouldn't a Retic need more room?

Not really no. As Brad says yes Burms can get BIG. I personally have owned some huge Burms. My largest Burm was 17' long and 200+ pounds. She was eating huge rabbits or small pigs. Remember most snakes will grow to exceed caging if they are fed a lot.
My Burm female has put on two feet in the last 2.5 months.

A good average size for a Burm as an adult is between 11' - 19' with a varying weights. I guess basically what I am trying to say is yes a Burm can (and has) reach Retic lengths but will have twice to three times the girth /body weight.

Well personally I think that burms and retics should have a lot of room, so I would treat both species the same. Retics are much more active than Burms too.

Thats all good info, I might get a retic in a while. Must have alot of room to house more than one retic or burm. I noticed that you had a cage that was 12 feet by 6 feet or close to there. I would have to have somthing around that size for a retic wouldnt I?

Personally I would go the big for both the Retic and the Burm.

Cool, Thanks. I will still get a retic in the upcoming months.

A good rule of thumb for caging is add at least two square feet of space for every one foot of snake.

So for a 6' Retic have a 9' long cage. The demensions of one of my cages are
10' x 3' x 3' . For my Retics & Burms this seems to work great.

Does this make sense?

Dear God I hope so. Makes sense in my head. lmao

LOL, makes sense yes, but to small for my tastes! LOL

Thats good info at least 2 feet per foot of snake. There was one place I read that said it should be 3/4 of space per foot of snake. I thought it seemed kinda small. I knew a guy that kept 2 burms 13 foot female and a 15 foot male in a 75 gallon aquarium. Both in the same aquarium. Tried to get him to make a bigger cage for them, but he ended up selling them.
