Later this year I am moving my baby (20 in.) BP into a larger (60"x24"x24") enclosure I am purchasing from Showcase Cages. I want to purchase a baby albino corn and house it in the 20L (28"x12"x12"?) tank my BP is currently in. My question is will I need to later purchase a larger space for the corn or will the 20L tank be suitable for it when it reaches max growth? Thanks a bunch.

Sorry. Moron here. I thought 20L meant 20 litres. Not 20 inches long. Same question applies.

A 20L is 12x30 inches of floor space. And that is fine for an adult corn. Though if you like to make the enclosures look more decorated I'd go bigger.

for a breeder 12x30 would be ok but for personal collection go bigger...

corns move alot and have the ability to get 5 feet ( not often but it does happen)

48" x 18" would be good enough for a larger corn.. (4.5ft) and the cage you may be putting the corn in now.. just make sure you have lots of hides.

i know the min for snakes is the total length of the snake = length of the cage + the width but corns imo fare better in slightly larger cages.

i house a 3.5ft in a 36x18 which i think is fine but could be better

The 20 gallon long tank will be fine for a corn snake till he gets about two to three feet long...so you don't have to rush off and buy a bigger tank right away. I housed a corn snake fine in a 35 gal long tank for a few years...and he moved around quite well in a tank that size....but I sold him and the tank many years ago. Now my corn snakes are in similar sized sterlite containers..a little wider than the 35 gal tank was but about the same length. The adult corns I have now are about four feet long.

I've always heard that adults should be housed in at least 30 gallon enclosures, is a 20 really enough?

Mine seem to do fine in the 27" tubs in the rack...........and so does everyone elses......I would say unless that corn gets past 4 feet you are fine with a 30 inch tank.

I had a friend with her adult male in a 15 gallon long.

Ok. So my BP is in it's new home (60"x24x"24") and my new baby corn (10 in.) is in a 30"x12"x12". Both seem thrilled exploring and the feeding responses have increased even though it wasn't a problem in the first place believe me!!!!! I hope I don't need to purchase another enclosure for the corn ever but It is a waiting game at this point.

Glad they are adjusting well, I think the enclosures you have them in should do it!
