Breeding Size

I want to breed my two oldest corns but I don't know if my female is quite the right size. She is just shy of 3' & 6.5 oz. The two live together so if it happens it happens but I'd just like to know if its a possibility this year so I can be ready.

Also, I am getting a trinket snake. He is the same size as my two baby corns, do you think they could live together temporarily?

It is never a good idea to house more than one snake together. There is the chance that they will cannabilize moreso I find with babies than adults.

The general "rule of thumb" for breeding is 3 x 3. ( 3yrs old, 3ft long, at least 300g ) 6.5oz = 184gr . I would wait until next year before breeding as your girl is too small right now....

Having them housed together, could result in her being bred and causing egg binding issues because she is too small. Males generally are ready and able to breed before females. Depending on your male's age, he could be ready but she is not. I would highly recommend seperating them so she does not become gravid, and you risk losing her. :(

Agree that female is too small & too keep her in with the male you are risking an unwanted breeding which could result in her becoming eggbound, which can lead to her death or not being able to breed in the future. Hosuing snakes of the same species together is not recomended (except for planned breedings), housing snakes of seperate species together is a definite NONO. Mark
