I recently acquired a yearling farm raised GTP - most like Biak locale. He is currently being treated for mites with Vapona. I'm not sure if the pieces are still effective though, so first question would be what would be the best way to ensure he loses the pests. He has excellent body weight and muscle tone so he has been eating well. I have had him for 4 days now and tried last night to feed when I was feeding my big female who has never ever missed a meal. All the new guy did was attack like a madman. He struck at everything in sight. It was quite a scene. This was with a frozen thawed item. Normally once the lights go out the big female immediately starts to hunt but the male does not seem to move. Temps and humidity are just right, he is in the female's cage that she outgrew. Do you think it could be the mites that are causing that much stress that he is not mmoving around at night, any feeding suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Brandon

I always wait at least a week before trying to feed an new animal. Shipping and new surroundings can be stressful. Give him time to settle in.
