I'm thinking about adding a carpet python to my collection of animals. Presently I have only one Suri boa. I have been doing some research and have found that I prefer the color pattern on the IJ, but I feel they are a little small. The pictures that I have seen of the coastals and jungles seem to show a difference in the vibrance of the colors between the two variations. Is this true? Are the jungles more brightly colored than the coastals. How much for the Jag? anyone know?
Let me take a stab at this,
Generally Jungles are brighter than coastal, but that was before Jags and their siblings
started to be available. Size wise mature IJ or Jungles can be quite similar. This again is greatly affected by the parents.
As for price Jaguars they start about 3000.00 and go up from there.
It does not matter really ALL carpets are great!!!

Thanks,
Those were the most clear answers to a somewhat convoluted series of questions I could have asked for. I took some time and looked at some of your pics prior to your reply to my post. Very impressive. The jaguar is quite possibly the most beautiful snake I have ever seen, a little (a lot) out of my price range though. Maybe a female IJ is the way to go for me. I was hoping to acquire a carpet python in the 8-10ft range but coastals seem a bit drab IMHO. If the IJ and the Jungle are similar in size, I have to go with the IJ.
