Striking at shadows

My corn snake has been striking at shadows at the back of his cage tonight. I have had him for nine years and it's the first time I have seen him do this! Do you think he is stressed about something?

Could be it is losing its sight & thinks the shadows are something else or maybe its getting a little senile with old age ;) if you have had it 9 years we know its at least that old so it is getting up there in age now Mark

9 old for a snake? I thought they lived to 30-40.
