Hi. I just got 2 new corns today, Yay! However, I am having issues deciding on heating for them. They are 5 1/2 weeks old and very small. So I put them into the largest kritter keepers there are (one each), added a pine substrate (sold to me by one of the breeders) and a deco. tree for climbing and hides. The water dishes are going in shortly; the ones I bought are too big so I'm heading out now to get smaller ones. What do others use for this age?
Now, as a substrate heater, I bought a Exo Terra Heat Wave Rainforest... small. But I am worried about setting this next to the plastic of the kritter keepers, as well as putting it on my wood desk or wood shelves. So I wan't to leave enough space, but still make it effective.
Also, how warm does that half of the cage need to be? I was planning on using one heater for both keepers, by setting them both on half. What are the heat changes over the day, i.e. should I drop the temp at night? How do I do that with this system. My room temp is mid 70's.
Please help, or point out any problems. I'm looking for answers fast! I want these guys to have a good first night with me!
