Just wondering how many hatchlings corn snakes usually have, and if u can breed different morphs together :2yellow: , like motley corn x snow corn or ghost corn x regular corn, or okeetee x snow, or is there some combonations that u can or cant use? any help?

You can pretty much breed any type Corn you want together as long as you have both a male & a female of each. # of eggs can be anywhere from around 10-30 & can be more or less. # eggs depends on the female, bigger older girls usually producing more. Mark

I heard somewhere that snakes have to go through hibernation before they'll breed and you have to lower temps. as far as 50 degrees for about a week as well as not feeding them a week before hibernation.

Actually, you don't brumate them for a week, it's actually for a couple of months. Corns don't always require brumation - mine have bred without it for the last 2 years. I may brumate next year due to low fertility rates this year though.

I didn't brumate any of my corns for the 2005 breeding season. Just carried on as usual with the feedings. I did adjust the lighting tho......instead of 14 hours of daylight thru the winter months, I backed off to 12, then 10, then 8 hours over the winter months. Increased the lighting the same way in the middle of February. My first females started to show signs of 'interest' right after their next sheds.
I am sure that this 'change' in lighting does affect the temps in the vivs but not as drastically as actually lowering the thermometer. For some of my females, this was their first year breeding; they still produced fair size clutches. One of my females from this year double clutched with 19 eggs and then 16 eggs. So far the second clutch looks 100% fertile (they are due in 10 days), and in the first clutch only one egg didn't hatch.
Since our 'corn room' is in our home, I refuse to lower my heat. I am a 'summer person' not a 'winter one' so I since I can't curl up and hibernate, neither do they.... :D Just kidding, but so far 'not brumating' hasn't caused a problem here.

I'd recommend buying the Cornsnake Manual By Bill & Kathy Love (or the new version of it) as it sounds like you are very new to all this & they have all the answers you will be looking for & then some. May cost you around $10-$15 but will be well worth it, Mark
I've never brumated my corns before and never will. I have had 100% hatch rates from one of my females. I say, if you don't NEED to brumate then don't. but if you find that the female is producing lots of slugs, low fertility etc, you might want to try brumating.
