Theres a pair of semi adult dumeril boas in relativly good price and i am thinking that i could start breeding them. Is it worth the time? Dumerils breed every year or every second year? Number of babies? Any of you had experience with them before?

Thanks, Greg

Never had personal experience, but from what I hear, babies are notoriously difficult to get started feeding if not setup just right. If you decide to do it, remember they are strictly ambush predators. They like to be buried with their noses sticking out waiting for prey to happen by. Babies are usually lizard eaters, so you might need to try scented pink/fuzzy rats.

If you go for it, I wish you great luck :)

Thanks LdyDrgn. So, they would like to have many caves to hide. The lizard-scenting maybe would be a problem, since i would not have the time to try that with every baby... :-/

Not so much caves, but a substrate they can burrow in such as aspen or shredded newspaper. You may not have to scent all the prey items, just something to keep in mind if you have really stubborn feeders. :)
