Hypos very cool! Be sure to keep that one with the umbilical on nice damp towels until it sheds out to avoid any complications. Congrats Mark
P.S. where are you located? feel free to send them my way!

Not hypo.

The result of breeding an Albino Cali King to a Lavender Albino Cali King will produce hypo colored hatchlings...

So Mike then you are saying his "normals" must be indeed a het for Albino & a het for albino lavender then? I say this because the impression given is that the breeding was a normal X normal. I will have to breed my Lavender male to an albino female next year to see for myself. Interesting tidbit thats for sure, THX Mark

.. the parren'ts are albino X normal and not as Mike said..
i'll post some new photos at the begining of the week when they all finish sheding and eating..

Nice Snake...
I don't think he's calling you Mark, his name is Mark.

gonesnakee
08-01-05, 05:48 PM
Yes my name is Mark LOL most folks state their name at the end of their posts its pretty common there TOM3R ; ) So was the Albino used a regular albino or a lavender albino? THX Mark

If you breed a lavender albino to a "normal" albino, you will get "normal" babies that look like they are Hypomelanistic. It's no secret... I know plenty that have done this on accident, thinking they had 2 lavenders, or 2 albinos, and instead had 1 of each. The 2 morphs are not compatible with each other, and for some reason when you breed them together they just come out extremely light.

Try it for yourself... you'll see. :)

Cool I've bred my Lavender male to a normal female & everything comes out normal looking. I'll definitely have to try the 2 types of albinos together to get the hypoish like ones THX Mark
P.S. do these hypoish type ones have a common name that is already being used for them?

HerperHelmz
08-01-05, 06:52 PM
No... they don't have a "market" name yet. I've seen them just advertised as "Hypoish Colored Babies" and such.

The Hypomelanistic morph in cali kings is already an established morph... so you can't call the crossing of the 2 albino morphs, hypo.

the female is albino not lavneder albino, just albino and the male is normal just normal

10x you all and my name is not all! :P

HerperHelmz

The male must be het for albino, or lavender albino.

And I've talked to plenty of people who thouht they had a normal albino, and had a lavender albino, the mistake is common because you really can't tell them apart as adults.

thanks mike

the things you are saying are very intresting, there is no way to tell apart a T- from the t+ albinos as adults? :bugged:

its strange that het for a recessive gen have a diffrent phenotip, does the same thing happen with boas that are DH for both traits of albino?

tomer the male probably is het albino,
and venus is lavneder, or the other way around.
that's still say that your babys have a really good genetics.

From what I have read, or heard from others... the majority of the time there is no way to tell apart the 2 albino morphs. Sometimes you can.. Like if you knew what specific one they were as babies lol....

I know nothing about boas. :)

gonesnakee

Even as adults you can still usually tell. Lavender albinos will have the ruby red eyes whereas the regs will have pink eyes, Mark

tomer grow up man...

that's why i said, "or the other way around". the male can be het for lavneder and that's why only half of the babys were hypoish looking (DH).

Exactlly Nevo, I don't think he really gets it LOL Maybe he needs to stfu & reread what has been said ; ) As he obviously doesn't understand what all is being said here about how the Hypoish ones come about. Maybe upset because he thought he had something new & it has been pointed out that they have been done before lots & how, plus there are real hypos out there already also. I personally make a couple of clutches of Het Lavender albinos myself every year for around 3 years or so now (as well as Lavender Albinos of course) & they have been sold Canada wide so the het lavs are definitely out there in Canada anyhow & I'm sure there are even more in the States as thats where they all came from now isn't it ; ). He would have to "prove out" the "regular" to be 100% sure. Breeding it to a Lavender should tell for sure whats going on. Mark
