So far this year we have had 7 clutches laid and 3 have/or are hatching. Our "testing' to determine what our original snakes were genotypically, not just phenotypically has been fairly successful to say the least.
We crossed a Normal (het ?) female and a Caramel (het ?, very light normals had been 'thrown' in a previous clutch, but we were unsure). Out of 10 eggs, at this point (:) ), 7 appear normals, and then there were 3 hypomelanistics. Here's a pic of one of the Hypos:

So now we can fill in at least one of the blanks, both are het hypos. Now the odds were sure on our side here.
Our second clutch that hatched was an Amel (het?) female x Snow (het ?). All 13 eggs proved to be Amels when hatched, but they sure are cute...here's a couple pics.

So we didn't fill in any 'blanks' here, but hey....who can resist these cute little faces. :D
Yesterday morning, we awoke to this little guy:

He was the first out from our Ghost (hets ? if any) female x Anery (het ?) male clutch. Well I was impressed to say the least, but patiently waited until the following two were out this morning:

Guess we can now say for certainty that our Anery male is het hypo. (Just love filling in those 'blanks' :) ). So out of 20 eggs, the odds are 50/50...wonder just how close we will be to that mark?
And here I thought all those genetics classes some 30 (oops) odd years ago would be of little value...was I wrong!!!!!
