View Full Version : a suggestion..
Jeff, [and other admins, mods, etc]
I was wondering if we could make an "adult only" forum to post jokes, comments, etc that might not be suitable for the young ones on here, where a password is needed to access.. or permissions can be set to view it..
Just wondering..

well it could be done but it would be huge work... I would have to set every person who is over 18 with the permission to view it.. and with over 1000 members now it would take a long time. If i have some spare time in the future i will put one up for sure.. :)
Jeff,
I've got a ton of spare time now.. not working anymore.. I could do it if you wanted...

Just playing devil's advocate here ..... but what are the legal implications here? I'd think no one would get nasty, but "what if"... a problem arose, someone got miffed.... anything like that, ..... and you get asked why a herp forum needs a password protected adult forum? Not saying (nor wishing) there will be trouble, but I would think that such a place would be very off topic for this place?
No trouble intended, just my view. Maybe I'm the weird one, but I would be more inclined to come here for herp related topics, a few laughs in the general discussion forum are good enough.
Actually I meant things such as a few jokes, nothing too crazy just jokes that have words that are considered offensive to young ones. I know of a few cases where posts have been removed because of a word or two being "slightly" offensive to children.
[does that manke sense? I'm tired]

Yeah Hilde is right... anyone can say they are 18+.. I have been threatened to be sue'd more times them i can count on both hands since the site opened and this could just create more problems... PM and email is a good way to share those jokes with friends :D

I have to agree with you as well Hilde. He*l, I'm the first one to admit I love some "adult" humour once in awhile, but it does not belong here, it would create an adminstrative nightmare. There are plenty of "adult" sites.
