Hi im thinking of getting a crested and was wondering if a crested really needs a cage with more height then length u can see my problem with this cage i want to use. It not meant to be stodd vertically as u can see i was wondering if i could stand it vertically with the same cover on it or would this be a problem for the gecko if he were to climb it?

TY in advance for ur responces!

It would depend on the size of him first and foremost. He might be able to squeeze thru the bars if he's small enough. How many gallons is that? or at least how high when it's like that?
It might be too large for the Crested unless he's full grown. A hatchling might not be able to be found easily in a cage that big..

I've looked at those 'grate' style lids and decided not to use them for even adult cresties. Even though cresties aren't flat, they're flatter bodied than something like a gargoyle. The lids I looked at seemed to be borderline okay for spacing, but any thin or young crestie could walk out through the gaps without any effort. You should try for screen tops just to be safe. If you start with a very young crestie, a kritter keeper would work for a few months.

the spaces in the crate top are only1-2mm wide theres no way it could sqeeze threw that maybe in the pic it looks bigger but its not. The tank is a 20 gal tank, and stands about 2 feet tall.
