Has anybody seen the Derma Ball pics yet? They are on VPI's website, under the braggin posts. Just want to see what people's opinions are on it, and the possiblities of it existing. Or an expert on Photoshop??? Check it out, it is definitely something else, that's for sure.

I've seen the pics, like someone on another forum posted where are the heat pits? Those aren't just scales so is the snake missing them, something that would be a concern or did the artist just forget and take them out in photoshop too.

those derma ball pics could be photoshopped, i dont know much about that kind of thing so im no judge. i kinda hope they are photoshopped, because the lack scales is a horrible, disgusting mutation, not one i would like to see on the market as a "morph." if it is real, it will probably die. its heat regulation would be all messed up.
p.s. that super-spotnose is incredible!

If its real, its one 'morph' that should killed off. They look horrible imo.
I have seen the Durma ball pics and i think that it is just a case of a snake having skin instead of scales. Snakes without skin are like freaks of nature it doesnt happen very often and as far as i know its not genetic.

ALL snakes have skin....its what the scales 'grow' on, w/o skin they would be like everyone thinks slimy, and scaly......

I believe scaleless has proven genetic in several other species (diamondback rattler, some water snake, and maybe even TX ratsnake) so there is a fair chance this one might be genetic. Of course there is the question of how appealing it would be to the masses and more important what affect the condition might have on the snake's quality of life. I've read where the rattle and water snakes had lots of shed problems so that would be something to watch out for should the scaleless ball python prove out.
