Hi everyone. I have been reading all your post for about 5 weeks.
I bought this lil guy for my daughter and fell in love. The pet store was trying to feed him crickets and thanks to this board he is now happy with his pinkies. Anyhow they had him/her listed as an Okeetee. After looking at pics I am not sure if he is an Okeetee or a normal. Hope you all can help a girl out...

Really hard to tell from those photo's. Anyway you can get the number of the petstore supplier?. Thats probably the only way you can be 1000% certain....okeetee, or really nice normal? :-)

Very difficult to determine from hatchlings as much of the Okeetee coloration is not shown until the yellow-orange background colors come once the snake is between 6 months and 2 years of age.

Best bet is always to see the parents to be most sure, and even then not all offspring will give strong colors. Many advertised as Okeetee will mature to nice looking classic corns.

The purists would maintain that it cannot be called an Okeetee without locality information that allows lineage to be traced back to the hunt club source, but most hobbiests accept the dark red saddles with wide black borders on a bright orange background as typical, even though this doesn't show well until a year of age.

Classic normal corns are lovely too.
