So how much and how often did you feed him. I'm trying to get a female big enough to breed next year. She's 22-23 inches long now at 8 1/2 months.

i feed him every 5 days and i give him 1 mice per feeding...the mice are about 3-4 weeks old...

Sounds like we are feeding about the same. She's taking a rat pinky every 5 days. The rat pinks are about the size of mouse fuzzies only seem to be a little more solid. I got them cus I read somewhere that corns seem to grow a little faster on rats. So far I don't see any difference.
Are you sure your's is less than a year? It looks pretty big and I didn't think they got that big until their second year. He's going to be a monster if he hasn't reached a year yet :)

im positive! lol his date of birth was July 6th, 2004

I Hope he becomes a monster! lol i also heard that if u feet them rats, they grow faster, i never tried on mine yet...i started breeding my own mice, so i dont think i'll try a rat anytime soon either =) i also heard that males get bigger then females, so maybe that why she's a bit slow at growing...since when do u have her? I have mine since he was 2 or 3 weeks old, so if u got her later, maybe the previous owner didn't feed her as well as you're doing now?

but im sure that if u keep her on a rat pinki every 5 days, all you need is patience, she will grow :)

I got her the middle of September but she was born in July also. So they are about the same age. I just hope she's big enough to breed next spring. I already have people wanting the offspring lol. I'm still not sure if I'm going to do the brumation or just try to breed them in March.

In a year your snake will not even be two years old. She's will not be old enough to breed.

Sure your snake may look big on the outside, but inside her internal organs may not be up to full size. Do her a favour and let her grow properly. There is no rush to produce corns.

So what would be the minimum age you can breed a corn?

I think for proper health, a min length of 3 ft and age of three years.

Not trying to be rude or anything...but dont you think 2yrs is abit young for a corn to breed at? IMO I feel 3-4 years is best. If your that much into breeding you should purchase a well established adult....considering corns are cheap and adults shouldnt be too expensive.

Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

EDIT: I didnt read any further than that post......I read on and saw Katts post...sorry about that.
