My corn snake regurged her last meal. Anyone know reasons why they do this? I am thinking she is going to shed soon, might this cause her to regurge? She was moving all over her enclosure for hours yesterday, then settled into her dish to soak. She's been soaking for hours now. It was very enjoyable watching her moving so much yesterday tho.

Regurg can happen for a number of reasons including too large a meal, too much handling, too cold, too warm (you might want to check temps also if she is soaking - could just be from upcoming shed but they also will be really active and soak if they are too warm - they are trying to escape the heat and the water is often cooler than air temp). Feeding too soon after a regurg can also bring on a cycle of repeated regurg - make sure you give her a week or two before offering food again to give her gut a chance to recover after this regurg.

We have never had one regurg just because they fed when they were in shed - and many of them do eat even when blue - but I suppose it could be a cause.

i heard.... regurges are not that big a deal at all, as long as they are isolated inncidents..if the sanke is regurging every meal or every 2nd meal, than you most likely (do) have a problem. I had a regurge on sunday and fed my snake anothe slightly smaller mouse 3 days later, and she held it down fine (she was starving too, she had the mouse before it hit the ground!lol. the point i am making is when i saw that my snake regurged, i panicked bad and i immediatley thought i had a sick snake. what i was told from a very respected source is it is not "that" big a deal as long as it doesnt happen every meal or every few meals. please let me know if i am wrong here, but hopefully my words will calm you down alot more than i was when my snake puked!!LOL take care
