IJ Pics and a Crappy Question

Hello

Here are some pics of my male IJ in his new enclosure. He seems to be enjoying the new found space. He enjoyed it so much that he crapped in his water bowl for this first time since I have owned him (3 months).

The question I have is how often do snakes poop? I have been cleaning the white mess that happens after about 5 days after a meal. I believe this is called "urate" and is not actually poop.

As to pooping, basing it on my somewhat limited experience (having owned one IJ for approx 6 months), i would expect one "event" every 5 or 6 weeks. These critters really seem to like to hold onto the matter for as long as they can.

But it probably IMO depends very much on how much you feed it and other environmental issues...how much does yours pack down at feeding time?

One other point (and this is again just my personal opinion)...that cage set up is lovely, but it might be tricky to keep clean. And be prepared to change all the bedding entirely once it does "go". The amount of dump mine produces is nothing short of astonishing.

Well i dont have IJ's but I do have a whole lot of JCP's and they pass poo poo about once a week..
Then again they're absolute hogs! :D

All the Ihs and other carpets i own generally will poop once after a meal ...
