View Full Version : Mating/behaving question.
Do B.P behave different when they are mating??Becouse my female only wants to eat right now.I fed her a rat yesterday
and today she whanted a new one.And they also make a mess in ther cage. And they both sleep in a different place the last few days.
Does this mean anything???I hope you guys can help?
Thanks Ray;)
A female being hungry after mating is a common occurence during the breeding season; the female knows enough to put on weight for the upcoming clutch. As for the "mess in the cage", what goes in must come out. Good luck.
Thanks mykee!!
What does it mean if the male sleeps alone the last few days?
And they also behave real strange the last few days.
Wow i hope it's true:D .I'am so axcited:D
If some if my lines are written wrong please tell me. so i can thange it.So you guys know what i mean to tell.
Thanks Ray
Ray, when males sleep alone it usually means they did something wrong and the female won't tell them what or is waiting for them to apologize... LOL. If the two aren't mating anymore, seperate them, try feeeding them both and give them a few days to digest before reintroducing them.
hahahaaha i know wat you mean.Happens to me also somtimes lol.
Ok i will seperate them. But the female had her last meal yesterday. When should i feed her again??
Ray, I would feed the female right up until she ovulates. Then there really is no extra room in her for food with the eggs. Offer her food every 5 days or so or keep to your regular feeding schedule. I'll be the first to say that you're a lucky guy, I have 10 females breeding right now, and not one of them have eaten anything in the last month, most haven't eaten since November. Good luck.
Mykee,
She eats like a pig right now.I offer her 1 rat every week .I think it's best if i continue this way??The male eats 1ore2 mice every week. But this week i'am gonna offer the male a little rat for the first time.I hope he will eat it.
And from now on i'am gonna weighing them every month so i can see what they are gaining in weight every month.I also must weight my self every month (lol) because i'am 6 feet and 240 pounds:(
lol.pffffff :(

When is "too late" to breed? Is there a real breeding season? Or is it mostly in the heat/photo period? Will there still be balls breeding into March-April?
