Thanks for all the tips and suggestions found throughout this forum. I'm happy to say after a month, he had his first mouse last night. I know he could have gone a lot longer without, but like a concerned parent I'm happy my little guy ate.

I'm sure you guys have said it a thousand times but whats the advantage of rats over mice? Nutrition?

as your snakes get bigger mice simply become far too small of a prey item unless youre willing to feed them 5 bigass mice every week rather than one rat every week. and the reason everyone trying to convince you to get your snake on rats asap is because the longer they are fed mice, the harder it will most likely be to switch them when they are older...
