View Full Version : Mmm maybe a bloodred?
Hey all,
Well Craxy just shed last night and I noticed she has circles down the first 5 or 6 inchs of her body. I know normals and oketees don't have these circles and so I did a bit of light research on other morphs and I think she best first either a blood red ( with the bright orange and reds and they also have those circles for the first bit of thier body). I took a pic of her circles and just wanted to see what you guys thought?
( this shot is with flash so her colors are a bit more deep red then this)

Thanks for any imput

Actually most corns have those circles. Both Okeetees and normals have them/can have them. All the corns I have ever owned had them down most of the first third of their body :D
Here are my snows...both have circles like most corns although in a snow they are harder to see, but definitly there....

I think your snake is an Okeetee. But I am not the best with corn morphs.

P.S. I *believe* a trait of blood red is a patternless belly. a red one anyways..not totally sure.....motley corns also have a patternless belly.

also as babys, bloodreds have grey heads.
ahh i c thanks for the pics Marisa:) lol all the pics I looked at showed the normals without the circles or they weren't very visible at least lol oh well I tried.
Nguyen_inc: I didn't have her as a baby so I wouldn't of knowen.
She probably is just a wierd normal, she has the normal belly pattern with a bit of orange.
Thanks anyways
Bye

Like Marisa says, the connected saddle pattern forming circles of background color is very common in the neck region of corns. One feature characteristic of bloodreds (and bloodred crosses to a lesser extent) is the lack of black/orange checkers on the belly - often more reliable indicator of bloodred parentage than the body pattern, as that can take time for colors to diffuse and is quite variable in how much effect you see.
You do have a very pretty normal though,

My Caramel has those circles too. They are very common with any corn morph.
Yup there is nothing normal about your normal. Craxy is one of a kind.
