Male or female? Rats or mice? Good feeder, bad feeder? Alway had the right heat? There are a lot of factors to consider. It could way anywhere from under 1000g to 4000g.
Cheers,
Trevor

Hi Trevor,

THANKS!!
Its a male and female. And yes they are good feeders on mice.
And the temp is around 30 c under hot spot. The coolest spot is around 24 c.I hope this helps a litle more on you answers.

Thanks Ray.;)

they should be feeding on rats. Rats are better for them and it will be cheaper for you since you wont have to feed them like 8 or 10 mice for one feeding.

That whole "mouse thing" changes my answer completely. If they were fed on rats and their husbandry was close to perfect, I would expect a male to weigh in around 2000g and a female to weigh between 2500-4000g. Now if they're mouse eaters and their husbandry was close to perfect, I would expect a male to weigh around 1000g, and a female to weigh between 1000-2000g.

Rats have more meat on them than mice do. A mouse is more bones than meat.

Can you post some pics of them? What about weighing them, can you do that?
Cheers,
Trevor

Contrary to what people might say, MICE SUCK. Period. That's all there is to it. I have a female ball that is going to be 3 in June that eats mice. I also have female ball(s) that are going to be 2 in June that eat rats. They all eat well, (except ones a mouse-eater) my mouse-eater is 1200g, and my female rat eaters are ALL 2000-2600g (and that's a years difference).

Not all mice eaters suck. I have a female which I acquire back in December of 2002, she was 335 grams then. She was bred last year and produced 6 perfect eggs, she was ~1850 grams before she laid the eggs. Today she is ~2600 grams and breeding again, if she didn't produce I bet she would be in the 3500 gram range. I have had her take rats in the past but very infrequently but on the other hand she hammers large mice whenever offered. So I guess economically rats are better but I would rather have a snake who eats mice all the time than one who eats rats once in a while.

"...but I would rather have a snake that eats mice all the time than one who eats rats once in a while."
What's the difference? I'll stick with my rat eaters.

I suppose if she will eat 6 mice every week or one rat every month I would take the mouse eater too. :) On the other hand all my rat eaters are consistent eaters and it is my mouse eaters that go off and are picky.

Don't get me wrong I would love for all my BP's to eat rats consistently, I just don't think having a mouse eater is the end of the world.
