I have been wanting a boa for sometime now but there is one thing, I am afraid of snakes. I guess that is why I want one, to overcome my fear. Make Sense? I want a redtail boa, but I'm not sure. I want something that is not tempermental and will not bite me :eek: Is that possible? Redtail's look like really cool snakes. I like their pattern. What information should I know before purchasing a snake. What kind of environment should I provide for it? What other snakes are good for a beginner? Any help would be appreciated.

Do yourself a favour and pick up a book or some caresheets. Do as much research as you can, to see if you could really handle a snake(esp. a larger one) if you do have a fear of them.
It would be unfair to yourself, or the snake, if you just got it to see if you could overcome your fear, only to find that you couldn't.

Maybe a corn or a kingsnake first? Just read as much info as you can before you decide what's best for you! Good luck!
