I feed my corns and jungles all pinky rats and pup rats. No harm in it at all.
I think that rats are actually better for corns.
At least for they first couple of years. They grow faster on them too......
Also after they corns laying eggs I feed them a small meal at first and then a small rat after to boost their energy back up.
If you're feeding rats all the time for adults, it MIGHT not be good cause they're getting too fat. So maybe that is what the person that told you feeding rats is not good for corn is talking about.

I feed my corns rats.
My corns are adults and like Simon mentioned, they CAN get a little fat on rats. Since feeding them nothing but rats, I have had to reduce prey size, and handle them more for exercise. I l also have to feed them less or else they get way overweight.
But my corns are adults. For growing snakes, rats are awesome and most corns take them without issue.

I feed my corns rats. I gave them rat pinks the second it was possible. I like rats way better then mice and from everything ive read, rats seem to be much more nutritious then mice.
For an adult, id feed rat hoppers or small rats (depending on the size of the adult) once every 2 weeks so he doesnt risk getting obese. Its also wise to give them a big enough tank to excersize in.
PS: The beautiful ball python you guys sold me is doing amazing :D
