I've hunted big game in Manitoba where wood ticks would get on you. We touched them with a lit cigarette and they would back out. Appararently if you pulled them out, the head may stay in and you may develope Rocky Mountain Fever or get an infection. I don't know what a reptile may develope ???Also some say put a drop of gasoline on them, and they will back out???

DO NOT put gasoline on your snake!! You can try putting some canola oil on them and then gently pulling them out, but make sure you get the head because if left in can cause infection. Or you could always go to the vet and let them do it for you.
Hope this helps.

P. Regius ticks are no big deal. They reproduce very slowly. Just pull them off with tweezers.
You can put a bit of anticeptic on it if you wish but I never did. Infections are rare, but it will look red for a while. Keep an eye on it.
PS
You have Togo import Balls. Captive born ones don't have ticks.

stockwell. how can you tell if i have togo's and i heard they are the less desireable of the wc. 1 is a definete cb and was bought from a very reputable ball specialist, and she is awesome and reduced pattern. I'd say she was worht more than what i paid for the 3

Togo is where the majority of Regius are exported from, tens of thousands of them annually.
Some also come out of Ivory coast and Ghana.
There's no way to tell exactly where it's from, as they are collected from all over, and make their way to the various export ports.
Ticks are a tell tale sign of an imported animal, or at the very least, one which has been housed with an imported animal.
Ticks are not half the trouble mites are, so I wouldn't be using Nix on an entire collection just because of a couple Regius ticks.
When I started breeding Regius there were no captive produced ones.. I had a few dozen big ol, Togo imports, and they had lots of ticks, but they never spread to other cages or other species.
They are very hard to kill with pesticides.
Making thorough inspections periodically and removing them manually is the safest way.
The biggest worry with Wild caughts, is getting them to eat. I once had one two years before it started feeding on gerbils.
Luckily those days are long gone, and most hobbiests have no feeding problems with Captive produced animals, which are now widely available.

Yea that was what I was going to mention, you may have got a good price, but better put that money aside for vet trips and the hair club for men because if these are WC, you will most likely be pulling out your hair in the hopes of getting them to eat and if the have ticks there is the possiblity they could have other internal parasites.
But ticks are defenitly a tell tale sign of WC animals, mabye she did just get a couple of import animals looking for a new morph, but you figure, if she is as reputable as you say she would have proper qurantine methods in place to stop the spread of things like ticks and mites from her WC stock to her CB stock. Personally I would get a full refund and get some high quality CB animals from a well known breeder.
Just my 2 cents.

the one reduced pattern definete cb was in a seperate room, and the other to were in the same room but i think only one is wc and the other was just in close proximity in there quarintine room. they are all eating but now i gotta switch them to rabbits
i would have only expected them to cover the cost of the nix treatment which i told them but they handed back $60 bucks out of a really good deal already.I have never had a problem with ANY balls as i've posted before and don't expect these to ba any different. all have fed with no problems ever.

if thats the case the only thing you have to do is to just pluck the ticks one by one. dont use any checmicals. just check them ever once in a while so that you wont have anny problems. i had ticks once with my import ball but after a few weeks of checking them thouroughly they were all gone. u cant be too careful so i still check them once in a while. in my personal opinion the only bad thing buying wild caught is the fact that these people are not taking care of the animal. they only care what will they make out of them. also wild caught are problem eaters. thats just my experience with them. if yours eat then you got lucky. good luck with your bp.
