IM THINKING MAYBE A "NORMAL" CORN..I WENT TO KATHY'S SITE AND I WAS COMPARING MINE TO SOME OF HER PICS..AND IT LOOKS LIKE EITHER AN "OKEETEE" CORN..WHAT DO U THINK..??

Unless it was collected from the Okeetee hunt club in Jasper County (which is no longer legal), or if it was selectively bred from Okeetee lines, then an Okeetee it ain't.
A very pretty normal.

An okeetee is just a normal. Okeetee is a LOCALITY, with a certain look, that has been selectively bred. Kathy Love has been breeding back locality okeetees to each other to keep the purity of the locale.

Not just any nice normal is an okeetee. Okeetees have thick black markings on the saddles, bold checkerboard on the belly, and deep rich background colours.

Unless a snake can be traced back to a breeder working with confirmed okeetee lines then a nice normal, is just that, a nice normal.

As far as I know, only Simon Fung (in Canada) is working with true Okeetees.

And I have 1.1 Love-line Okeetees from the line Simon is working with. One of them looks like a typical Okeetee and the other doesn't as much. But they <u>are</u> Okeetees. :D

thanks guys!! i never knw an Okeetee was actually a locality and not so much a morph...lol..no wonder i was having a hard time telling the difference.

Yes for all those posts above, those are all true statments.

So instead of repeating those posts, I'll post some photos of my Okeetees (from Kathy Love Stock).

I so wish that normal on the bottom wasn't in shed, that would be my ultimate corn. I have been looking for a corn that looks like that for a while! I really like that melanin wash. I guess it's like hondos, I like the tipped ones!
