Have some of the black rubbermaid tubs for brumation this year and they make a great backgrounds for photos. About the only time I can get good shots of this girl are when she is chilled - she is really active otherwise and it is hard to capture just how yellow the butter corns can be.

she was losing patience with me!!

in contrast to my other butter - taken a few weeks ago - this female has much more orange to her saddles - not postive on background for these girls but good indications that they are from the same parents - so some idea of how much siblings can vary at maturity.

Mary, you always have such great looking snakes and take such good looking photographs! I really like the yellow on your first butter and the black rubbermaids do make a good background.
Jon
Black rubbermaids?
Very cool, I didn't know you had two butters! Pretty cool!!

Thanks Jon - I love the corns - such incredibly beautiful snakes but they really don't seem to get the appreciation that the boids do - too many people seem to write them off as 'beginner snakes' and discount their beauty.
Katt - yes black ones - I love them for brumation - and am using them for a few of my less secure youngsters - they seem to like the dimmer light. And yes - I have the two girls now - the darker one is a year older than my original female. Both very nice - plan to pair one up with a striped male and one with my amel motley corn this spring.
will post a few more pics tomorrow

Beauties, I would like to add one to my collection some day. Thanks for sharing all of the great pics :)

Tim,
Caramel + Amel = Butters
Caramel + Hypo = Ambers
I think that there aren't enough Ambers in Canada.....don't know what it is about them.....they aren't just demanded that much....
I hope to see more Ambers here, especially those Ultra Caramel (Ultra Hypo Caramel looks like a Butter with Black/Normal Eye colors....those are VERY NEAT looking)

I agree Simon - ambers are lovely snakes - the dilution and cleaning up that comes with the hypo, combined with the enhanced yellow is really striking. The ultra hypo makes it even more dramatic.
Caramel motleys are also one of the nicest corn colors out there in my opinion. The motley pattern reduces the black and they are this glowing golden color with the stretched saddle pattern - very pretty!! Hope to have some one day. The caramel gene is a great one to work with.

Definately agreed with the motely pattern diluting the coloration.
You should see a couple of those butter motleys that I have, those are really nice and bright too.
(My camera just 'died' at the beginning of Dec....its now getting repaired, hopefully I'll be able to get it back soon and I'll take tons of pics~~.....well now thinking about it I hope that I get my web site and email back soon too....don't know why it went down.....)

Definitely hope you get your camera back soon Simon - have missed your photos posts and would love to see some of your butter motleys!!
Can never have too many corn pics!

I think Mary should get on making some Ambers, that is one corn morph I wouldn't mind adding to my corn collection.
At Red Deer I stupidly passed on a caramel. So dumb, so terribly dumb.

I have the ingredients now anyway - but this hypo boy is likely a bit too small to be paired with one of the butter girls this year --
he is first in line for next year, unless I can find a way to get some of the ultras up here. Simon - when are you going to have 'golddust' corns in Canada!!?

Man how I wish I can get my hands on thos Golddusts!!
Those look absolutely awesome!
Heck I wonder what the animal would looke like if I added Lavender to a Golddust! Now that is something~~
I don't know Mary, by next year I guess....assuming....planning.....to be gone.....
I do have the Lavas though. Those are VERY neat looking and I am trying to get my Ice Ghost or Lava het Ice to breed with my Bloodred or Lavender to get Ice Lavenders....
Keeping my fingers crossed~~
