I just got myself some Opals this month...and they are great looking...these photos that I am posting do them no justice at all....but I tried doing my best to take the best pics that I can.....

Are these the first Opals in Canada Simon?? Congratulations they are beautiful - one of the most spectacular new colors. Really looking forward to seeing the results of your breeding programs.

I really don't know if they are the first few opals in Canada. I know that there must be other people out there that has these but never tell us because they are either busy with other things than posting (like me, such a loser...) or they don't want to breed so it's just a pet so no pictures or anything like that.

But I am assuming that I am the first few that has opals up here in Canada.....I hope...

Simon! Canada is not ready to handle Corns like that! You will create mass hysteria. I want to save Canada from itself! Send me the corns. It is the least I can do! :)

oh Canada is ready to handle these snakes. We already have a few lavenders here.....a few years later we'll be producing tons of opals out too.....so don't worry we are all ready~~~~

LOL....are you ready now? After dressing up and putting your make up on...now you are ready right....

An opal is a combination of amel and lavender genes working at the same time on the phenotype of the animal.
That is the animal has both amel and lavender coloration.
Since mines are still hatchlings, I can't really show you how they really would look like as adults.....
but you can go to the cornsnake forum and check it out it's on www (dot) cornsnake (dot) com (did this because the computer would put in stars for promoting other sites.....)

He sent me a pic of his and remarked how pricey it was for just a nice snow corn. <laugh>

Congrats on the opals. I'd like to see what these guys look like as adults. As babies they don't seem much different from snows!

Yes these opals do look like snows in the pictures, but then in real life when you look at them closely they do have a little purplish coloration on them....

as adults they will (should) look more purplish red.....I really can't wait for them to grow up....they are now taking 2 f/t pinkies a week....
