Hi there fellow python lovers.
I am new to this and thought a ball python would make a good starter snake because with my previous research they appear quite good.

Anyway now for my questions:
1.how big(average) do male ball pythons grow?
2.how big (average) do female ball pythons grow?
3.what size cage would i need for a full sized ball python?
4.are these snakes aggressive or are they quite laid back?
5.should i feed them live,prekilled or frozen?

thanks guys!

Male ball pythons grow to a size of 3-4 feet long, females grow to 5, maybe 6 feet long.

An adult ball would need around a 25 gallon or an appropriate sized rubbermaid.

Ball pythons are shy, they rarley bite, there slow and gentle. Some get very scared when someone other then there owner touches there head.

It depends, if you get a python that is all ready eating very good, you won't have to risk feeding it live, frozen is your best idea, really use frozen food! And make sure to make your rodent your will be feeding hot, either by putting it in very warm water or putting I under the heatlamp. These snakes have heat sensing pits on them, so another words the warmer it is the easier it is to see it.

P.S - Buy a captive bred and born ball from a breeder please!

just a note!!! if your thinkin on getting a ball python just make sure that its a cb so that you wil not have the problem that is associated with wild caughts. ie. parasite, being a pinicky eater. good luck with your python

A new word! Finicky and picky all in one. We're such lazy people.

another note. feed your ball rats, not mice
